Blair Walsh kicked a 25yard field goal with 1:41 left to give the Vikings a 2423 victory over the Tennessee Titans at the Metrodome on Thursday night, helping the Vikings avoid a winless preseason.

Marcus Sherels’ 109 yard kickoff return to start the second half was the game’s highlight play.

Sherels’ return gave the Vikings a 2117 lead, but the Titans got field goals of 30 and 24 yards from Rob Bironas to take a 2321 lead.

Walsh missed a 42yard field goal attempt with 7:36 remaining.

But led by quarterback Bethel Terrelle Pryor Black Jersey McLeodThompson, the Vikings drove to set up Walsh’s winning kick in the final minutes.

Tennessee got the ball back but a botched snap was recovered by the Vikings’ Collins Ukwu with 53 seconds left.

Rusty Smith hit Jack Doyle with a 2yard touchdown pass with 26 seconds left in the first half to give Tennessee a 1714 halftime lead.

BethelThompson connected with Joe Banyard for an 11yard scoring pass two minutes before Doyle’s TD to give the Vikings a raidersofficialonline.com/6_terrelle_pryor_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap shortlived 1410 lead.

The Banyard TD came shortly after Vikings guard Seth Olsen was taken off the field on a stretcher. Olsen appeared to hit his head on the knee of a Titans player while blocking, snapping his head back a bit. Olsen was strapped to a board before being wheeled off on the stretcher, but did give a thumbs up to the crowd. The Vikings said Olsen had a neck injury.

Cornerback Bobby Felder also left the game because of an ankle injury late in the third quarter. Felder is in a battle with Sherels to make the team at both cornerback and punt returner.

The Titans scored in the first half on a 28yard field goal by Bironas and a 17yard pass from backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to rookie Justin Hunter. The Vikings’ first touchdown came on a 1yard run by Matt Asiata, who had eight carries for 32 yards in the opening drive.

The Vikings’ offensive and defensive starters did not play. They wore their uniforms, but did not bring their helmets or shoulder pads. The regular season opens at Detroit on Sept. 8. Commenters must follow our Terms of Use.

21 at the Super Bowl

You’ll remember from last year that Saturday at the Super Bowl is Hall of Fame day and this year, Russ Grimm’s name is up for consideration again. We’ll have that news here, on the RedskinsInsider twitter feed and, I’ll send a mobile alert as well. Of course, Bruce Smith is also up for consideration and seems certain to get in.

Samuel Adams partnered Felchlin, a renowned Swiss chocolatier, to develop a unique innovation, Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock. We started with a complex selection of carefully roasted malts combined with handselected Noble hops from Bavaria, the world’s oldest growing area. After using a Jacoby Ford Elite Jersey centuries old brewing process, called Krausening, we slowly aged the beer on a bed of rare dark cocoa nibs from Felchlin, a renowned Swiss chocolatier. Known for their quality these wild cocoa nibs, harvested from the rainforest of Northern Bolivia, impart complex aromas and flavors of chocolate, honey and vanilla in the beer. The resulting beer, Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock, has a big, malty character that is combined with the subtle sweetness of chocolate, giving this brew a complex fullbody taste with a velvety finish.

I hear you Alex, but I’m not so sure that the 1 pass defense can’t handle the AZ passing attack. If it was THAT good, they wouldn’t won more than 9 games in the regular season. They’re playing lights out ball right now, but that’s because their D is racking up TOs and Fitz is playing like he made the same deal with the devil that Warner did. I don’t think their offense will be able to score at will Jacoby Ford Authentic Jersey against this Steeler D and I doubt Pittsburgh turns it over like the Panthers or Falcons did. The Steeler ground game hasn’t been at its best this year and doesn’t necessarily have to be for them to win. I think it’s a good matchup and will be a close game, but the Steelers intangibles give them the edge in my book. IMO, they are the exceptions, not the rule.

When I think chick drinks, I think Mike’s Hard raidersofficialonline.com/12_jacoby_ford_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap Lemondae, or Smirnoff Ice, or screwdrivers, etc. Obviously SoCo isn’t going to put as much hair on your chest as a strong cognac, but I wouldn’t consider it a chick drink. NFL franchises have an upcoming window to either use the franchise tag or the transition tag to lock up their unrestricted free agents, beginning Feb. 5 with a Feb. 19 deadline.

Keep in mind when a team uses the franchise tag or transition tag, it’s a oneyear tender offer of a high base salary paid during the season and includes no signing bonus. So, every dollar counts against that year’s cap. 27:

The quarterback franchise number is $14.65 million and the transition figure is $12.44 million.

The running back franchise number is $6.62 million and the transition figure is $5.92 million.

The tight end franchise number is $4.46 million and the transition figure is $4.07 million.

The defensive end franchise number is $8.99 million and the transition figure is $7.78 million.

49ers to become Broncos West

DENVER As new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels works this week to assemble his first staff in Denver, a slew of Mike Shanahan former assistants are busy trying to find jobs of their own.

The most interesting development is how the San Francisco 49ers seem to be interested in several of them.

Offensive coordinator/line coach Rick Dennison has already interviewed to be the offensive coordinator on Mike Singletary staff there. He would be a good fit if the Niners want a coordinator with a runfirst philosophy.

The 49ers also had a phone interview with former Broncos tight ends coach Pat McPherson for the team quarterbacks coach job. McPherson coached the quarterbacks in Denver from 20032006. Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee speculates that the 49ers could be considering Dennison and McPherson as a package deal, though there is no indication that either of them is the favorite for the respective jobs.

In that same blog, Barrows writes that the 49ers might also be interested in Jeremy Bates Denver quarterback coach who is still under contract with the Broncos for three years. But conventional wisdom says that Bates despite any previous endorsement from Jay Cutler is likely done in Denver now that Josh McDaniels will both call the plays and work closely with the quarterbacks. Bates would basically have to accept a demotion to stay in Denver. Who could blame him www.raidersofficialonline.com/11_sebastian_janikowski_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap.html for raidersofficialonline.com/11_sebastian_janikowski_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap wanting to look elsewhere?

Check out one more interesting story from the Bay Area, this one from San Jose Mercury News columnist John Ryan. It about new Denver defensive coordinator Mike Nolan and it cautioning Denver fans from getting to excited about Nolan coming in and fixing the defense right away. Ryan was reacting to a quote from Broncos defactoGM Jim Goodman, who on Monday told The Denver Post that we might see some sort of a hybrid 34 / 43 defensive scheme at some point. Writes Ryan: God, for the sake of Denver fans sanity, please let him be talking about a Prius. The Sebastian Janikowski Elite Jersey hybrid, of course, is the Sebastian Janikowski Black Jersey sometimes 43, sometimes 34, never effective defense Nolan employed to ride the team into the ground for the first half of 2008.

49ers fire Mike Singletary

Here the newspaper story for Monday paper on Mike Singletary firing. Wow. What a day:

After the latest sloppy loss in a 510 season that began with divisiontitle hopes, 49ers coach Mike Singletary was fired Sunday night shortly after the team’s flight returned home from a 2517 defeat to the Rams.

Defensive line coach Jim Tomsula, in his fourth season with raidersofficialonline.com/17_denarius_moore_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap the team, will serve as interim coach for San Francisco’s regularseason finale against visiting Arizona this Sunday. Tomsula, who led the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe in 2006, is the only assistant on the staff with headcoaching experience. Team president and CEO Jed York Denarius Moore Elite Jersey and Tomsula will speak at press conference at noon today at the team’s headquarters in Santa Clara.

The 49ers released a statement Sunday night in which Singletary, 52, who had an 1822 record in twoplus seasons, expressed gratitude for his players and coaches. He also thanked the franchise that gave him his first opportunity to be an NFL head coach.

“One of the greatest experiences of my life was having the opportunity to coach www.raidersofficialonline.com/17_denarius_moore_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap.html the San Francisco 49ers,” Singletary said. “What made it so special were the players. They were some of the most outstanding men I have ever been around in my life I am also thankful for the Faithful fans, I am just sorry I couldn’t give them more.”

York had strongly hinted that Singletary’s firing was imminent in a brief interview session with reporters after the 49ers, prohibitive preseason favorites to win the NFC West, had been eliminated from playoff contention by a loss marked by a sideline shouting match between Singletary and quarterback Troy Smith.

York had said “money was no object” when Singletary’s fouryear, $10 million contract was mentioned. The Niners will have to pay the remaining two years, about $5 million, on Singletary’s deal.

“Obviously, we didn’t achieve the things we set out to achieve,” York said after the game. “We should be a playoff team. We aren’t a playoff time this year. Very disappointed about that. We need to figure out how we can get into the playoffs and how we can start competing for Super Bowls.”

In the game’s immediate aftermath, York had said he didn’t want to make an emotional decision on Singletary’s future. But it clearly didn’t take too much reflection for him to fire a coach whose fiery temperament, once viewed as an asset, contributed to his undoing.

After posting a 54 record as an interim coach in 2008, Singletary, a Hall of Fame middle linebacker with the Chicago Bears, was viewed as a strong leader who commanded respected from his players. He was credited with redirecting the career of underperforming tight end Vernon Davis, who turned into a Pro Bowler under his watch.

But after an 88 season in 2009, Singletary lost his way this season.

During the Niners’ 05 start, he had a testy interview with KPIX host Dennis O’Donnell, fired his handpicked offensive coordinator, Jimmy Raye, didn’t shake hands with Falcons coach Mike Smith after a loss in Atlanta and shouted at quarterback Alex Smith on the sidelines during a loss to the Eagles.

Beyond his emotions, there were also questions about his offensive philosophy. Singletary, who famously said he wanted his teams to be “physical with an F,” was increasingly viewed as a coach hanging on to a smashmouth style of offense that had become increasingly outdated in the passhappy NFL.

In the end, of course, Singletary was undone by the scoreboard. Denarius Moore Black Jersey The Niners, expected to win the NFC West, one of the weakest divisions in NFL history, are tied with Arizona in last place at 510.

“I want to thank Mike Singletary for the passion and effort that he brought to this organization,” York said in a statement. “He is a tremendous person for whom I will always have great respect.”

Singletary’s firing could be just the beginning of changes for the Niners.

After the game, York said the team will conduct a search for a general manager.

The GM post has been unoccupied since Scot McLoughan was fired in March. According to multiple reports, York will also consider director of player personnel Trent Baalke, who was in charge of a draft that received high marks in April.

Asked a hypothetical question about hiring a new coach after the game, York said he would hire a GM first and the pair would then collaborate on the hiring of a head coach.

“As we go forward,” he said, “that will be something that the general manager and I will discuss together.”

It also appears that quarterback Alex Smith, an unrestricted free agent after the season, could be leaving the team. Smith, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 draft, has never fulfilled his promise in six seasons in San Francisco. He had an NFLhigh 10 turnovers during the 05 start and was demoted on two occasions this season. He didn’t start the Niners’ mustwin game Sunday.
